Rishab Shetty has taken up his next acting assignment. The film, titled Harikathe alla Girikathe, will have him collaborating with Sandesh Productions. The director of Rudraprayag, who has also established himself as a full-fledged actor with Bell Bottom, will be headlining the comedy entertainer directed by Giri Krishna.

The makers organised a simple muhurath on Friday, and also revealed the production details on the occasion. The film will be produced by N Sandesh, and the entire project will be executed by Rishab Shetty Films. Apart from Rishab Shetty playing the lead role, the makers have brought on board Pramod Shetty to play a pivotal role along with a few new artistes as part of the cast.

The team will zero in on the heroine before they begin shooting in July. The technical crew of Harikathe alla Giri kathe includes music composer Ajanessh B Lokanath and cinematographer Ranganath.

Well-known producer Sandesh N is set to team up with actor-filmmaker-choreographer Prabhu Deva for a multilingual project. “The film will have Prabhu Deva at the helm, and he will also be playing the lead in the multilingual film, which will be released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi. After a series of discussions, we have managed to lock a subject, and the preparation work has begun” says Sandesh.

Presented by Sandesh Nagaraj’s Sandesh Productions, the film will star popular actors from different regions. “As per plans, we are likely to go on floors in May,” says producer Sandesh.

The production house is now looking forward to the release of Rishab Shetty’s Hari Kathe Alla Girikathe, which is currently in the post-production stage. Meanwhile, the banner also announced a Shivarajkumar-starrer that will be directed by Chi Gurudutt. This project with Prabhu Deva, who last directed Salman Khan’s Radhe, will be the latest addition to their upcoming projects.

Producer Sandesh Nagaraj formally announced that their next project under their banner will feature Ambareesh’s son to be produced by his son Sandesh N ; two directors are being considered – Pavan Wadeyar and Chethan Kumar – to helm the actor’s first film

Karthik Gowda, the producer of Powder, candidly addressed the multiple postponements of the film’s release date. The film was originally slated for an August 15 release, but it has been pushed to August 23. Acknowledging the decisions behind these delays, Karthik, at the trailer launch of the film, elaborated, “We have postponed the release of Powder three times now. Initially, it was due to scheduling conflicts and logistical challenges that needed to be ironed out to ensure a seamless theatrical experience.”

Karthik further clarified, “The primary reason for the latest postponement revolves around strategic considerations. With two highly anticipated Kannada films also set to hit theatres on the 15th, we felt it prudent to avoid direct competition. Our aim is to secure optimal screening slots and ensure that Powder receives the attention and audience it deserves.”

Expressing his optimism about the film’s prospects, Karthik encouraged the audience not to wait for its eventual OTT release but instead to seize the opportunity to enjoy the immersive cinematic experience in theaters. “We want viewers to indulge in the full spectrum of emotions and entertainment that Powder offers on the big screen,” he said.

Powder, directed by Janardhan Chikkanna of Gultoo fame, is the fourth production from KRG Studios. This project sees a collaboration between KRG Studios and the popular Mumbai-based banner The Viral Fever (TVF). The film is produced by Arunabh Kumar of TVF and KRG Studios’ Karthik Gowda, Yogi G Raj, and Vijay Subramaniam. The trailer for the film was recently launched ahead of its scheduled release on August 23.

Based on a story by Deepak Venkateshan, the trailer suggests that Powder is an uproarious comedy revolving around a group of young friends who concoct a wild scheme to get rich quick. Their scheme centres on a stash of narcotics ingeniously hidden in talcum powder tins, setting the stage for a series of comedic misadventures.

Powder features an impressive ensemble cast, including Diganth, Dhanya Ramkumar, Sharmiela Mandre, Aniruddh Acharya, Rangayana Raghu, Ravishankar Gowda, Nagabhushan Bharath GB, and Gopal Krishna Deshpande, among others.

Rangayana Raghu, known for his roles in recent films like Shakahari and Tagaru Palya, exudes confidence in the content of Powder. He voiced his concern about audiences not patronising theatres and earnestly appealed to everyone not to opt for mobile viewing. According to him, Powder is a delightful film meant to be experienced on the big screen, where its humour and charm can truly shine.

While director Janardhan Chikkanna revealed how he came to direct Powder, Diganth expressed his excitement about collaborating with him, mentioning that he had admired Chikkanna’s debut film, Gultoo. Diganth also echoed the sentiment about audiences not coming to theatres, stating, “The film is meant for the big screen, so please don’t watch it on your phone. Come to the cinema and enjoy the experience.”

Dhanya Ramkumar mentioned that she received a significant career boost with Powder. Sharmiela Mandre, who takes on a unique role with action-packed scenes in the film, shared, “I’ve never played such a role in my career before. When I heard the story, I immediately agreed to be a part of it.”

Ravishankar, Nagabhushan, Anirudh, and Gopal Krishna Deshpande spoke about their respective characters. At the event, producer Karthik also mentioned that Navara Nayaka Jaggesh has lent his voice to Powder.

Ramesh Aravind is back at work after a brief hiatus, and is getting associated with Sandesh Productions for his latest venture. The actor-director, who took a break for the wedding for his daughter, Niharika has now returned to what he likes doing best.

The Shivaji Surathkal actor is said to have had a few rounds of discussion with the producers, and is likely to finalise the project in the next few days, after which an official announcement will be made by the team. The actor and the producer have known each other for years now, and have come together for several films earlier. The duo will be colloborating for yet another interesting project.

Ramesh, who will be playing the lead role in the film, plans to get a new talent from his team to direct the film. “This year, Ramesh is keen to take up more acting assignments. His agenda is to get more on the creative side and design the whole film while he introduces some young and talented filmmakers from his team to direct a film.

The first attempt will be made with the film produced by Sandesh Nagaraj,” says a source close to the actor-director, Meanwhile, Ramesh is waiting to release his directorial project, 100, but he has decided to go ahead only after the government permits 100 per cent occupancy in theatres.

The film, made by Suraj Productions, also has him playing the lead role. It also stars Rachita Ram and Poorna. Ramesh’s immediate next project to go on floors will be the sequel to Shivaji Surathkal. Directed by Akash Srivatsa, it is currently in the preparation stage, and Ramesh, who is all set to take charge as an investigative officer again, is working on the looks of the character.

The shooting of dance king Prabhu Deva-led multilingual movie, ‘Wolf’, has been completed. The movie is being produced under Sandesh Productions in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

Anju Kurian and Lakshmi Rai are enacting lead roles opposite Prabhu Deva. Anasuya of ‘Pushpa‘ fame also has a prominent part in the movie. The film team has shot for 65 days in locations across Puducherry, Chennai, Bengaluru, and the Andaman and Nicobar. The movie is based on a different, surprising script, according to the makers. Vinu Venkatesh has written and directed the movie.

Earlier this week, Kannada TV and cinema’s Talking Star Srujan Lokesh officially launched his debut directorial, Ghosts in Trouble (GST) , a horror comedy, which he will direct and co-produce with Sandesh Nagaraj of Sandesh Productions. Srujan will play the lead in the film, which will also star Rajani Bharadwaj and Niveditha Gowda, who makes her big screen debut with GST. Kannada rapper and composer Chandan Gowda, who is Niveditha’s husband as well, will score music for the film, which went on floors on Monday.

While Srujan has directorial experience of having handled several episodes of his hit show Majaa Talkies, his film GST, he says, is special not only on account of being his debut as a filmmaker. Srujan’s son Sukruth is in the film, making him the fourth-generation actor from the family. Talking at the muhurtha of the film, Srujan explained that in Bhakta Prahlada, which the late Subbaiah Naidu directed, produced and acted in, his son (and Srujan’s father), Lokesh was seen as a child artiste. Years later, when Lokesh produced, directed and acted in Bhujangayyana Dashavathara, he got Srujan on board as child actor. And now, Srujan is set to take this family tradition forward by having his son Sukruth act in his directorial debut GST (Ghosts in Trouble), which he is co-producing with Sandesh Nagaraj and acting in as well. Sukruth is the fourth-generation actor from the Subbaiah Naidu family. Srujan’s mother, veteran actress Girija Lokesh will also be seen in the film, and directing her is an opportunity the Talking Star said he will cherish forever.

We had previously reported that actor Shivarajkumar is headlining a film titled Ghost. The film, directed by M G Srinivas and produced by Sandesh Nagaraj under his banner Sandesh Productions, has now got its release date. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on October 19.

Ghost also stars Anupam Kher, Jayaram, Prashanth Narayan, Archana Jois, Satyaprakash and Dattanna. With music by Arjun Janya and cinematography by Mahendra Simha, the film’s editing is by Deepu S Kumar.

Shivarajkumar is working on a slew of films, including Arjun Janya’s 45 along with Upendra and Raj B Shetty, Yogaraj Bhat’s Karataka Damanaka, untitled films with Ram Dhulipudi, Kotresh and KS Ravikumar, Narthan’s Bhairathi Ranagal, and IV Returns, a sequel to his 1989 cop film Inspector Vikram.

After his recent Tamil debut with a cameo in Jailer, he will also be seen in Dhanush’s Captain Miller.
